MIAMI—Prologis Pompano Industrial Center in Pompano Beach, FL just leased a full building to OC Communications. The industrial lease spans 25,300 square feet.

Cushman & Wakefield industrial leasing team executive director Christopher Metzger, executive director Richard F. Etner, senior director Christopher Thomson, and associate director Matthew G. McAllister represented building owner, Prologis. Financial terms of the industrial lease were not disclosed.

“OCC needed more space and parking for their vehicles,” Metzger tells GlobeSt.com. “The freestanding, secured Prologis building was the perfect fit for them.”

OCC is one of the largest national fulfillment contractors for low-voltage installations. The company, which has locations across California and Florida, installs more than 80,000 miles of cable each year. That’s enough to encircle the world three times. OCC is relocating its Hollywood, FL operations to the Prologis Pompano Industrial Center. OCC also has locations in Hialeah, Fort Myers and Boynton Beach.

Prologis Pompano Industrial Center features a 5,336-square-foot office and showroom, warehouse clear height in excess of 19 feet, six dock-high doors with three edge-of-dock levelers, one drive-in ramp, and a secured and fenced rear storage yard. At only two miles, the industrial building’s location at 2151 Blount Road offers tenants the shortest distance between Interstate 95 and Florida’s Turnpike in Broward County.

According to CushWake research, the Broward County industrial market remains extremely active driven by significant employment growth. In the past 12 months,

Broward County’s vacancy decreased to 6.5%. That’s an 80 basis point decline.

“Warehouse/distribution space experienced a decline of 50 basis points to 7.1%, with manufacturing and office services having steeper drops, each falling by 140 basis points over the year,” wrote senior research analyst Valerie Tatum in the firm’s 4Q 2015 Broward County Industrial MarketBeat Report. “The industrial market remained active as year-to-date leasing activity reached over 4.2 million square feet and overall absorption experienced a two-year high of 900,000 square feet.”
