Daniel Moore Moore: “We will continue to diversify our development platform and project portfolio by geography and asset type.”
NEW YORK CITY—The Rockefeller Group has hired development and real estate capital markets executive Daniel Moore, based here, as EVP and head of urban development nationally. Previously, he was a managing director at Hines Interests in Washington, DC, responsible for Hines’ new business development and equity capital relationships throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Moore was in charge of 1213 Walnut, a 26-story, 322-unit apartment project in Philadelphia, the company’s first new development in that city. At Rockefeller Group, he succeeds Dan Rashin, who had been serving in dual capacities since being elevated to co-CEO back in January of this year. As head of urban development, Moore is responsible for the strategic direction and growth of the company’s office, residential and mixed-use development portfolio. He reports to co-presidents and CEOs Rashin and Tetsuya Masuda. Throughout the United States, the Rockefeller Group has several development projects planned or under construction spanning the office, residential, retail and hotel sectors. Current projects nearing completion include the first phase of Flushing Commons, a master-planned mixed-use development in Queens; Amaray Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale, FL.; Liv Northgate in Gilbert, AZ.; and AVE Florham Park at The Green at Florham Park in Florham Park, NJ, which is also home to BASF’s North American headquarters, the Summit Medical Building and the New York Jets training facility. Moore was with Hines in various roles of increasing authority in New York, Connecticut and Washington, DC for 16 years. Prior to his most recent position, he was a managing director in the company’s capital markets group, where he negotiated joint ventures, sourced equity capital and was involved in the structuring of domestic and international investment funds. Previously, he was VP with Hines US Office Value Added Funds I & II, with responsibility for investment management of the funds’ portfolio of investments aggregating approximately $1.9 billion. Prior to joining Hines, Moore served as a captain in the US Air Force. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School, with a dual major in finance and real estate, and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Notre Dame. “Dan is a highly experienced development and investment management professional with the right combination of leadership and vision to help The Rockefeller Group grow our pipeline and deliver best-in-class properties in and around the major metro regions,” says Rashin. “I’m very pleased to join The Rockefeller Group, a company with a monumental reputation and even greater potential,” adds Moore.  “We have a sizable development platform and project portfolio today and will continue to diversify by geography and asset type.  Our ongoing focus will be on creating projects of the highest quality, meeting the needs of an evolving market and delivering superior results to our partners and clients.”
