MORRISTOWN, NJ—Data center and telecommunications expert James Cali, a veteran of more than 25 years in the industry has joined Avison Young as a principal. Cali was most recently a senior vice president at Cushman & Wakefield.

“The opportunity to become a principal, contribute to the firm’s collaborative partnership model, and help lead the data center and telecommunications practice made my decision to join Avison Young an easy one,” says Cali. “I look forward to using Avison Young’s vast resources and expertise to provide new and existing clients with real estate solutions that enhance their technology offerings. I am also excited to work with the Avison Young team regionally, nationally and throughout the world as the firm expands its global data-center and telecom services.”

Based in New Jersey, Cali will help lead the firm’s data center and telecommunications practice.

Before joining Cushman & Wakefield, he was a senior vice-president of telecom and technology at DTZ, Cassidy Turley and Equis Corp. Before entering the commercial real estate industry, he worked for One Equity Partners, Global Crossing, Qwest Communications and Sprint in various executive roles.

Cali holds both a Master of Science degree in computer science and a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and computer science from State University of New York College at Cortland.
