The online retailer will receive up to $1.65 million inperformance-based tax credits and up to $149,500 in training grantsfrom the Indiana Economic Development Corp. based on the company'sjob creation plans, according to a release from the IndianaEconomic Development Corp. The distribution center, which will beoperated by Amazon.com.indc LLC, is expected to create more than350 new jobs by 2011, according to IEDC's release. Amazon.com willalso have a distribution center in Whitestown, IN and a fulfillmentcenter in Munster, IN. The distribution center is expected toemploy more than 1,200 people while the fulfillment center isexpected to employ about 100 people, according to IEDC'srelease.

AirTech Park is located near the intersection of Interstate 70and Ronald Reagan Parkway and is near Interstates 70, 465, 65 and74 in addition to Indianapolis International Airport. The 500-acrepark has approximately five million sf of industrial and officefacilities, according to information on Browning Investments'website. Tenants and clients of the park include Belkin,Brightpoint, Electrolux, JC Penney, Ozburn-Hessey Logistics andPepsiCo. The joint venture plans to begin construction on a660,000-sf distribution warehouse that is scheduled to be completedin the middle of 2009, according to a release from Browning. Thecross-docked facility will have 36 feet clear height, approximately65 dock doors and T5 fluorescent lighting, according to therelease.
