We’ve passed the mid-year mark and the good news is that there aretangible signs of recovery. Even the economic storm clouds overEurope appear to be subsiding. However, there are still plenty ofprofessionals out of work and pounding the pavement looking for newopportunities. As we head into the expected pick-up in hiringactivity in the Fall, it’s important to revisit the importance of aquality resume. It’s the first line of presentation to an employerand recruiter, and I can’t tell you how poorly a vast number ofresumes are prepared. Poor formatting, typos, misspelled words, youname it, most have it. The other bit of advice goes to theexecutives who are gainfully employed and haven’t had a resumeprepared in decades. Now wondering to themselves if their platformwill survive the wave of consolidation or being approached aboutemerging opportunities; it behooves every professional to have awell prepared and presented resume (and other backgroundinformation) in the drawer and ready to go. And one lastsuggestion: Spend a few dollars to have a professional support theeffort. It’s a cheap yet important investment.
