UNIVERSITY PARK, TX-Officials from the city are hoping to raiserates on property tax by 4.89% as the revenue from uptown communityis expected to fall. This proposal was put forward by City ManagerBob Livingston to balance the fall of 4.665 in the tax base.

Even with the increased rates, property owners will pay $31 lessin 2011 due to the fall in property value. They expect the averagetax base to fall by $147 if the rates are not changed. Forthe full story, go to The Dallas Morning News.
