Yesterday it was announced by the National Bureau of EconomicResearch's Business Cycle Dating Committee (a group of academiceconomists that determines the widely accepted benchmarks for USrecessions) that the end of the recession occurred in June 2009. Bymy calculation, that means that we are well into the recovery, andwe should all be feeling real good about now. Not! Stay tuned forthe next installment in Washington as the bureaucrats flog eachother on who has the better answer for moving the stalled economy.We really do deserve better than what is being served up on eitherside of the aisle.
