BALTIMORE-InterPark Holdings Inc. of Chicago is under contract to acquire the former News-American site at 300 E.Pratt St. from Urban America LP.

InterPark is in discussions with Urban Park to acquire the parcel in order to build a high-rise mixed use project at the site, according to the Baltimore Business Journal.

Brian DeBock, a vice president of asset management for InterPark, says the company would likely develop apartments, a boutique hotel, and first-floor retail, in addition to a parking garage at the property if the sale is finalized.

"It's really too early to say what exactly is going to be there —it's really going to be what the market demands," DeBock says. "The goal is to maximize the density that's allowable and put something in that complements the area." See story in the Baltimore Business Journal.
