FORT WASHINGTON, MD-One of three bidders for the right to build a casino in Prince George's County here, has acquired land for their planned casino resort.
An affiliate of Greenwood Racing Inc. bought the site for its proposed Parx Casino Hotel & Spa for $1.2 million, according to the Washington Business Journal. Greenwood, which owns the Parx Casino in the Philadelphia suburb of Bensalem, acquired the nearly 22-acre site at 7707 Kaydot Road from a group of individual property owners.
A decision on who will secure the casino license for Prince George's County is expected to be made by Maryland gaming regulators by the end of this year. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
