TRENTON, NJ-The bankruptcy trustee of engineering firmBirdsall Engineering Group filed a federal lawsuiton Monday here seeking to recapture legal expenses paid for formeremployees that were indicted in connection with its illegalpolitical contributions. Birdsall pled guilty earlier this year tomaking illegal campaign contributions.

Trustee Ed Stier filed suit against some of the state's topcriminal attorneys, seeking the repayment of more than $500,000that went toward the defense of former company executives who havebeen charged with federal crimes, according to The Record.Stier charges that the payments to the attorneys were not legallyauthorized.
