PHILADELPHIA-Construction has officially begun on Drexel University's $170-million, 24-story building on Lancaster and 34th St. here.

The university project will feature student housing, retail space and a dining center. It is  being developed in partnership with American Campus Communities and will be the largest development either has initiated, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The 580,000-square-foot building will house 1,300 students and contain 20,000 square feet of retail space. Upon completion in the fall of 2015, American Campus Communities will operate the property. See story in the Philadelphia Business Journal.
