BALTIMORE-The 25th Street Station shopping center, anchored by a planned Walmart, won approval late last week from the city's Planning Commission.

The project was unanimously approved by the commission, which rejected calls from opponents to have the project sent back to the City Council, according to the Baltimore Sun. The commission ruled that modifications made to the planned unit development since the City Council approved the plan in 2010 were only minor amendments.

Walmart and developer, WV Urban Developments Inc., have now apparently cleared the last significant hurdle to begin construction of the project at 25th and Howard streets. See story in the Baltimore Sun.
