WLLOW GROVE, PA—A total of 10 firms from near and far have expressed interest in a project to redevelop more than 800 acres at the former Naval Air Station-Joint Reserve Base here.

The specialties of the firms that have shown interest range from residential to mixed-use development companies, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The companies that responded to the RFQ from the Horsham Land Redevelopment Authority included: American Real Estate Development of Souderton, PA; a group that includes Avalon Bay Communities Inc. from Arlington, VA, Pulte Group Inc. from Bloomfield Hills, MI, and Paramount Realty, of Lakewood, NJ; Catellus Development Corp. of Oakland, CA; Hankin Group from Exton, PA; LCOR of Berwyn, PA; Lennar Corp. of Miami; NVR Inc. of Reston, VA; O'Neil Properties Group, of King of Prussia, PA; Realen Properties, of Berwyn, PA and Toll Brothers Inc. of Horsham, PA

“We were hoping for three to five responses,” says Tom Ames, deputy director of the Horsham Land Redevelopment Authority. “We got 10.”

Ames and his group will review the developers' credentials and after interviews will create a shortlist of companies that will then draw up plans for the 862-acre site. The redevelopment authority hopes to select a master developer by the end of this summer. See story in the Philadelphia Business Journal.
