WASHINGTON, DC—The partnership of Jonathan RoseCos. and Somerset Development Co. hasfiled plans to replace the Portner Place publichousing development with a mixed-use project.

The plans call for the four-story, 48-unit Section 8 housingcomplex to be razed and replaced with a two-winged building withground floor retail, according to the Washington BusinessJournal.

Somerset, Jonathan Rose, New Community Partnersand the Rose Green Cities Fund acquired PortnerPlace, which consists of three garden-style buildings, lastSeptember for $16.15 million. The new plan calls for 366 newaffordable and market rate apartments.
