HANOVER, MD—The Cordish Cos. are talking withcounty officials about building a $200-million hotel adjacent toits Maryland Live Casino at Arundel Mills.

An affiliate of Cordish owns the casino and David S.Cordish, chairman and CEO of the Baltimore-based company,says the hotel component was part of the original lease with theproperty owner.

"That will be a phase two," Cordish says. "We're now turning ourattention to it." He says the hotel would likely be a mid- tohigh-rise tower next to the casino that will feature 300 rooms, aspa and possibly meeting space and could open by 2016, according tothe Baltimore Sun.
