WASHINGTON, DC—A prospectus expected to come before Congressshortly would have the State Department bringapproximately 2,000 of its workers to one building in ArlingtonCounty.

The General Servcies Administration prospectus, which must passthe House and Senate to be implemented, is a major consolidationthat will be part of the first batch of fiscal year 2015prospectuses to go before Congress, according to the WashingtonBusiness Journal.

The State Department consolidation would have the agency takeapproximately 343,000 square feet in an area that would includeproperties in Rosslyn, Ballston, Crystal City or Pentagon City. Theplan calls for the consolidation of two State Department agenciesnow in Rosslyn to a property in that Arlington County area.
