WASHINGTON, DC—Forest City Washington has received a permit for its latest addition to The Yards development here.
The Arris project at 1331 Fourth St. SE will involve a 327-unit apartment building with three below-grade parking levels and 20,000 square feet of retail space. Designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects LLP, the project will total approximately 350,000 square feet.
Site work, including excavation, began in late 2013, and the building is expected to be delivered in late 2015, according to the Washington Business Journal.
Another significant development that secured permits on Monday was George Washington University's 12-story residential hall in Foggy Bottom at 2121 H St. NW. The $130-million building will include two levels below-grade for building maintenance, student study and activity rooms, and possible future retail.
The first level will feature student multi-purpose rooms, laundry, offices and staff apartments. Floors two through 12 will have double occupancy rooms and affinity suites. The property is approved to service 898 occupants. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
