WASHINGTON, DC—Forest City Washington hasreceived a permit for its latest addition to TheYards development here.


The Arris project at 1331 Fourth St. SE willinvolve a 327-unit apartment building with three below-gradeparking levels and 20,000 square feet of retail space. Designed byRobert A.M. Stern Architects LLP, the project willtotal approximately 350,000 square feet.


Site work, including excavation, began in late 2013, and thebuilding is expected to be delivered in late 2015, according to theWashington Business Journal.


Another significant development that secured permits on Mondaywas George Washington University's 12-storyresidential hall in Foggy Bottom at 2121 H St. NW. The $130-millionbuilding will include two levels below-grade for buildingmaintenance, student study and activity rooms, and possible futureretail.


The first level will feature student multi-purpose rooms,laundry, offices and staff apartments. Floors two through 12 willhave double occupancy rooms and affinity suites. The property isapproved to service 898 occupants. See story in theWashington Business Journal.
