WASHINGTON, DC—The long awaited redevelopment ofReservation 13 by the Stadium-Armory Metro Stationappears to be at hand. The administration of Mayor VincentGray has submitted resolutions to the DCCouncil that declares two lots on the Hill East sitesurplus and authorizes the sale of the parcels to a joint ventureof Donatelli Development and BlueSkye.

The sale price of the lots is $10, according to the WashingtonBusiness Journal. The Donatelli-Blue Sky venture will redevelop thelots into two apartment buildings totaling 354 units (106affordable), up to 40,000 square feet of retail and 222 parkingspaces. The development plan also includes a public village squareadjacent to the Metro.

Chris Donatelli, president of DonatelliDevelopment, says of the mayor's resolutions to the council, "It'sbeen a long time coming but I do think it's an important step. Thisis the first time the city has ever gotten to the point of enteringinto an LDA with a developer for that Metro station."
