WASHINGTON, DC—The General Services Administration has began a search for office space for the Justice Department's Civil Division, which is currently housed in two buildings here.
The GSA is seeking up to 217,000 square feet of space for the Justice Department's litigation arm, which is currently in approximately 256,000 square feet of leased space at 1100 L St. NW and 20 Massachusetts Ave. NW. Those deals expire in 2016.
Expressions of interest for the pre-solicitation, being run as part of the GSA's National Broker Contract through JLL, are due on Dec. 17, according to the Washington Business Journal.
The GSA is working on a number of space-reduction efforts, including moving agencies into more efficient buildings and working on improved space plans. The agency is also exploring opportunities where the government can own its space instead of renting. A recent example is its recently initiated search for the State Department's Diplomatic Security bureau. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
