BALTIMORE—Officials with Comstock Partners of Reston, VA and Chicago-based InterPark Holdings are expected to present plans for a mixed-use project on East Pratt Street that will feature rental apartments and a new hotel.

The plan for the Inner Harbor site calls for a 200-room hotel, approximately 400 apartment units, retail space and about 500 parking spaces, according to Kimberly A. Clark, executive vice president of the Baltimore Development Corp. The developer will release the plans Thursday at a meeting of the city's Urban Design & Architecture Review Panel, according to the Baltimore Sun.

“I think it's a viable project and I think the timing's right," Clark says. "Baltimore is—I really don't like to say it's on the launching pad, but it's taking off. It's crazy. It's really becoming a place to be."

The one-acre site, once the headquarters of the long defunct News American newspaper, was acquired by InterPark for $16.4 million last year. The property at Commerce and South streets has been a parking lot since 1990. See story in the Baltimore Sun.
