ATLANTA-The musical chairs scenario in city's office environment continues as Richard Amon, the former manager of the 1.1-million-sf One Atlantic Center, is hired by Cousins Properties Inc. to guide the 2.2-million-sf, five-building Concourse Corporate Center.
ORLANDO-The eight-year-old, locally based brokerage, founded by Realtor Barbara Vance, hires Peter V. Tanner to head the new division. Turner is a 30-year industry professional and formerly managed all of the US Marine Corps property in Florida, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands from 1983 to 1988.
ATLANTA-Dividend Capital Trust of Denver closes an estimated $88-million deal with AmberJack Ltd. for the acquisition of four class A, fully leased distribution buildings in suburban Fairburn, GA and Stockbridge, GA. It's the largest industrial deal of the year.
GAINESVILLE, FL-Southern Management and Development LP of Boca Raton, FL pays Oaks Mall Ltd. $116.19 per sf for the 19-year-old, 105,253-sf shopping center adjacent to the regional Oaks Mall and about 120 miles northwest of Downtown Orlando.
DECATUR, GA-A private New York-based syndication group pays Atlanta-based Mimms Enterprises $57.14 per sf for the 372,762-sf, 26-acre Belevedere Plaza here. The 276,706-sf retail level is 100% leased; the rear space is 67% vacant.
ORLANDO-McDonald Development Co. of Atlanta breaks ground on a total 266,188 sf of spec industrial space in two projects at CrownPointe Commerce Park and starts site work at an adjacent 17.2-acre tract that will house build-to-suit ventures.
ATLANTA-Only 3,700 units will be added this year, down from the 6,300 units delivered in 2003, according to a new market analysis by Marcus & Millichap. Overall vacancies are expected to dip to 10.8% by year end, down from 11% in 2003.
ORLANDO-Eager to capitalize on an unprecedented condominium-buying surge, Cheney Place II LLC, headed by Illinois developer Robert W. Forloine, pays $120,462 per unit for the 303-unit, five-year-old, 95%-leased Echelon at Cheney Place. The North Orange Avenue asset will be converted to condo units priced from $100,000 to $300,000.
ATLANTA-The consumer products company's regional division renews its 10-year lease at 2233 Lake Park Drive at an estimated aggregate rent of $6 million. The deal took 10 months to do, from contract signing to closing.
ORLANDO-McKinley Inc. of Ann Arbor, MI pays locally based Sunpoint Investors Ltd. $56,000 per unit for the 24-year-old, 96-unit, 80%-leased Sunpoint Apartments at 5501 Conroy Road in the southwest section.
