SPRINGFIELD, VA-The buildings continue to pop up at the Metro Park office compound, as developers prepare to break ground on the fifth installment, Metro Park V. Work on the 176,500-sf structure is scheduled to begin later this month and wrap up about a year from now.
TOWSON, MD-Retail property is hot in some areas of suburban Maryland, as is evidenced by KLNB Retail's recent facilitation of Elysian Partners' sale of three shopping centers in Owings Mills, Severn, and Hagerstown. The three properties account for a total of 242,000 sf and commanded an aggregate of $35.5 million.
ARLINGTON, VA-The Hartford Building welcomes a new tenant as Greener & Hook signs a five-year lease for space at the 212,000-sf office and retail structure. The communications consulting firm will relocate from Washington, DC to a 4,400-sf space on the building's eighth floor.
WASHINGTON, DC-The Commercial National Bank Building gets a new owner with CarrAmerica Realty Corp.'s recent acquisition of the 206,000-sf property for $84 million. The historic property, which was redeveloped in 1989 to include a new attached structure, is currently 100% leased.
HERNDON, VA-Coldwell Banker Commercial Capitol Realty Services takes on the responsibility of providing tenant representation assistance to Experian-Scorex in its expansion here. CBC Capitol Realty will oversee the information solutions company's lease negotiations for 16,000 sf of space at 2350 Corporate Park Dr.
GERMANTOWN, MD-Advancis Pharmaceutical Corp. is adding a huge chunk of space to its 62,000-sf headquarters in Seneca Meadows Corporate Park by subleasing an additional 53,000 sf at the 156-acre business compound.
WASHINGTON, DC-Disappointing eager shoppers and pleasing some smaller retailers and other protestors, Wal-Mart decides to forego developing a 100,000-sf store at the Rhode Island Place Shopping Center in Northeast. The world's largest retailer still has its eye on the District.
GREENBELT, MD-Information technology services provider Internosis abandons Northern Virginia for Suburban Maryland, and takes a 19,000-sf space at the 80,000-sf office building at 6401 Golden Triangle Dr. in Prince George's County to house its headquarters. The company plans to make the move in October.
BETHESDA, MD-LaSalle Hotel Properties puts itself in an even better position to pursue future investment opportunities with the increasing of its existing $215-million unsecured credit facility to $300 million. The previous facility had been orchestrated in late 2003.
WASHINGTON, DC-Preferred Office Club joins the tenant roster at 888 16th St., a 138,000-sf office building owned and partially occupied by the Motion Picture Association of America. The company, which provides turn-key office space, will open the new 25,600-sf locale in December.
