NORFOLK, VA-Old Dominion University's Ted Constant Convocation Center-a $62-million, 220,000-sf sports and entertainment arena-marks its completion with an opening ceremony. The facility will serve as the centerpiece of a grander development, the $270-million, 75-acre University Village.
WASHINGTON, DC-Boston Properties takes a half-acre on Capitol Hill and makes plans to build a 170,000-sf office structure. Company officials say they are in the beginning stages of the project, which industry insiders speculate could cost around $50 million to develop.
GAITHERSBURG, MD-Pre-engineered shared lab services prove to be a hit as gene therapy research company Intronn commits to 9,000 sf in the specialized development within Tech Park 270. Tailored to accommodate mid-sized bioscience firms, the space leases for about $32.50 per-sf.
