CAMBRIDGE, MD-Kennett Square, PA-based Mushroom Canning snaps up Nabisco Inc. subsidiary Kraft Foods' 168,450-sf manufacturing plant for $2.5 million. Valued at $5.8 million, the 55-acre property currently serves as the manufacturing and packaging site for Grey Poupon mustards and A-1 Steak Sauce products.
WASHINGTON, DC-Constriction of the International Monetary Fund's 650,000-sf "second headquarters" gets underway with CarrAmerica Realty Corp. at the helm. The multi-million dollar office and retail development, which will sit adjacent to the IMF's current headquarters, is scheduled for completion in 2005.
PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, VA-Noland Company--a mechanical equipment distributor for the manufacturing and construction industries--chooses 1,600-acre Prince George County's Industrial Park as the location for its new $8.5-million distribution facility. The 200,000-sf development is scheduled for completion by the middle of next year.
ARLINGTON, VA-Arlington County gives the office market the once-over and decides to stay put, renewing and expanding its lease at 2100 Clarendon Blvd. The new 15-year deal is worth $112 million and brings the county up to 208,000 sf with options for future growth.
RESTON, VA-The 40,000 sf of retail space on the ground and basement levels of Two Freedom Square, a new 457,000-sf office and retail tower, is quickly filling up as four new shops commit to a total of 16,350 sf. Two eateries, a salon and a crafts store are the new tenants.

WASHINGTON, DC-Jones Lang LaSalle secures the leasing and management assignment for the Southern Railway Building, the historic 245,000-sf edifice at 1500 K St. The real estate services firm had handled the building's leasing before the property's change in ownership last month.
WASHINGTON, DC-Contractors say the 150-million building that will sit at 901 New York Ave. is going up fast, with construction moving forward as planned. The 530,000-sf building is pre-leasing almost as quickly--leasing capacity is already at 65% in anticipation for the 2004 completion.
RICHMOND, VA-The class A, 211,000-sf office structure at 600 East Broad St. commands a $12.525 million financing package from Houston, TX-based real estate investment banking firm LJ Melody & Co. The mid-rise building has long-term leases by government agencies.
WASHINGTON, DC-Marriott International wins the bid to build the new Washington Convention Center headquarters hotel with a $500-million proposal. The 1,500-room property will also feature 90,000 sf of meeting space to accommodate visitors to the 2.3 million-sf convention center facility due to open in March.
