CHANDLER, AZ-The store at the corner of Riggs and McQueen roads will be about 34,000 sf larger than the standard 63,000-sf Fry's Marketplace. The new game plan is to add general merchandise, including a 10,000-sf garden center.
PHOENIX-A Milpitas couple wins the bid for a 61,692-sf general industrial building, home to Auto Safety House. The deal comes with a lease that's good through 2009. The holding was on the market two months before going under contract.
PHOENIX-The buyers are scooping up tracts as far out as 60 miles in the Sonoran Desert. In most cases, they are betting the planned highways will bring prosperity in five to 10 years. The 4,000 per month population increase is driving the speculation.
TEMPE, AZ-Tandy Leather Co. buys Copper Saguaro Leather to mark its first Arizona location. The 2,000-sf leather craft store's location at 1126 N. Scottsdale Rd. was bought for $30,000, says the CFO for Tandy's parent firm.
PHOENIX-Building owner, First Industrial, gets a six-year tenant in a signing valued at $350,000 over its term. The tenant, Glass Doctor, gets newer, nicer and larger working space in a move to the Baseline Foothills industrial project.
