THE WOODLANDS, TX-The newest extended-stay hotel, a Homewood Suites, is ready for business. The Woodlands is a prime market being fueled by corporate relocations, expansions and new training facilities, says the franchise development director.

HOUSTON-Two CBD fire stations, forced to vacate the premises, have found a home. Two leases have been signed and renovations completed for the new accommodations. A fire department construction team also added a structure for equipment.

HOUSTON-Greystar and Power Industry Consultants have joined the tenant lineup at the 21-story Millennium Towers. The 365,955-sf, class-A structure presently is undergoing a major renovation.

HOUSTON-In a quick lease signing, CD Steel & Service has managed to meet a startup date for its first Houston location. The firm has set up shop in 5,000-sf at 10612 Hempstead Rd. in the Greenspoint-Airport submarket.

HOUSTON-Ground has broken on the city's fifth Hawthorn hotel. The 59-suite facility is being built near the Bush Intercontinental Airport, which due diligence shows will be a strong market for the brand's extended-stay venue.

HOUSTON-Land is a hot ticket in the northwest corridor these days, with three sales coming down the pike. The largest tract, 13.1 acres, is destined for a townhome development. Another parcel is for a private school and the other, industrial use.

HOUSTON-Northwest Office Building has renewed one tenant and signed a new one in recent transactions. Coming on board is Ornate Inc., a high-speed exchange service for commercial, e-commerce and residential properties.

HOUSTON-Automated Information Management has moved its corporate headquarters to Cornerstone Towers. The 20-year-old firm specializes in fiber-optic lines, including last-mile service. PM Realty and Grubb & Ellis negotiate the deal.
