The $172 million purchase price reported by Real Capital Analytics ranks the sale as the second largest multifamily transaction in Atlanta metro history.

The Silverman Group, a family-owned and operated private equity and real estate development organization based in Basking Ridge, NJ, is growing its Atlanta industrial holdings.

The $81 million sale includes 502 apartment units in metro Atlanta.  

Robert Lachapelle of CBRE's Atlanta office, and Ann Cone of CBRE's FHA lending platform, arranged the 40-year, 100 percent non-recourse, fixed-rate loan on behalf of the borrower, CC NVB.

Speaking of the Atlanta economy, Angel Oak Capital's Ben Easterlin says, "Right now, we're not seeing any cracks in the egg."

Newnan Distribution Center was renovated in 2001 and is now 87%-leased to two tenants.

The new development will set the tone for future projects in the Chosewood Park neighborhood.

Cohen, a Cortland board member for the last four years and a Cortland advisor for the past six months, will report directly to Cortland CEO Steven DeFrancis.
