Colony Capital announced on Aug. 9th as part of its second quarter financial report that it has engaged advisors to market the company’s multi-billion-dollar industrial portfolio for sale, which may include the related management platform.

The REIT, Broadmark Realty Capital, will provide flexible real estate financing.

The two companies are partnering to build a portfolio of student housing assets across the US.

The renovation will open the top six floors to the public for the first time since the building opened in 1893. Marshall Field and Co. had historically used these floors for making furniture, clothes and its executive offices.

Bell Partners will manage the Broward County property that is located in the growing job and housing markets of Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton.

Apartment fundamentals in the Jacksonville MSA are solid. According to CBRE Econometric Advisors, employment gains in the market have been steady over the past few years and should continue to have a positive effect on the apartment market.

The report states that in 2019 Dollar General alone plans to open approximately 1,000 locations, while the dollar store sector has a pipeline of approximately 24,000 new locations planned for the future.

Marx Realty has signed more than 160,000SF in new leases, upon the building’s $48M repositioning.
