SANTA MONICA, CA-The motion in L.A. County Superior Court attempted to stop shareholders from voting on a $1.1 billion Goldman Sachs buyout of financially troubled National Golf Properties, but the court denied the motion. The vote is scheduled for Dec. 18 at the REIT's annual meeting.

PHOENIX-The buyers are scooping up tracts as far out as 60 miles in the Sonoran Desert. In most cases, they are betting the planned highways will bring prosperity in five to 10 years. The 4,000 per month population increase is driving the speculation.

SAN ANTONIO-The 250-unit complex is the Dallas-based developer's first foray into San Antonio. The affordable housing project will break ground in January in the city's south submarket, an area in the midst of a redevelopment.

CHICAGO-Quashing speculation that it will walk away from the 110-story trophy Jan. 2 when it is scheduled to assume ownership, president and CEO Timothy Callahan says the 3.5-million-sf tower will produce about 3% of Trizec Properties Inc.'s 2003 FFO.
