OAKLAND, CA- The Earth Justice environmental law group has chosen Oakland as its new home over San Francisco, despite the fact that its rent will double. The law firm chose the spot mainly because of its environmental focus.

LOS ANGELES-The Kingsley Apartment Plaza here is sold to Los Angeles-based FSC Realty at a price that translates to $90,291 per unit and $115 per sf. The cap rate is said to be 7.9%.

NEW YORK CITY-Auto insurance firm GEICO Direct signs a $10 million-plus, 10-year lease for 41,500 sf in the two-floor Long Island office building, owned and managed by 875 Merrick LLC. Brokers say this deal marks the largest office space signing for Nassau County this quarter.

WALPOLE, MA-The town considers redeveloping a 100-acre parcel into a golf course. The parcel is located right off Main Street and is largely privately-owned by multiple owners, but the town is looking to protect the site because of its environmental designation.
