SEATTLE-The San Francisco-based commercial real estate says increasing market share here over the last two years made adding a local office a natural step. Heading up the office will be Rob Marshall, a former vice president with American Property Financing.

DETROIT-Population in the region will grow by 568,000 despite an exodus to Sunbelt states. Meanwhile, growth in the suburbs will create a strain on the infrastructure, says the Southeast Michigan Council of Government.

SAN FRANCISCO-The city has approved 240-units of assisted living in a 23-story building on the property of St. Mark's Lutheran Church on O'Farrell Street. The First Unitarian Universalist Church appealed this ruling to the Board of Supervisors.
