CHARLOTTE-The Downtown inn is scheduled to open in fourth quarter 2002. A major asset of the hotel will be an on-site trolley station, linking the convention district with the south side of Charlotte.

ORLANDO-Locally-based Arvida Realty Commercial Services, St. Joe's community development arm, is developing the 499-acre coastal community on the silver sand beaches off the Gulf of Mexico in south Walton County, 275 miles northwest of Downtown Orlando. The estimated hard construction cost is $20 million.

SAN FRANCISCO-A 212,000-sf telecom building is going up south of Market, and a major international carrier has reportedly signed a lease for a substantial portion of the building, which will eventually have a twin standing next to it.

HOUSTON-A 40-unit loft project is under way in an 80-year-old brick warehouse, formerly used by a moving and storage company. The project is within walking distance of the Houston Astros' Enron Field.
