CHICAGO-First Industrial Realty Trust Inc., a Chicago-based industrial property investment trust, is looking to trade a fourth of its portfolio as part of its plan to reduce debt.

The REIT has 195 properties that total 16.4 million square feet and 724 acres. First Industrial, which calls the properties as non-strategic assets, has not disclosed the properties that will be put up for sale, and by September 2012, the firm is planning to close $250 million to $300 million in sales.
