DALLAS-The merger ends a year of speculation as to who UCR's Mickey Ashmore would bring on as a partner. Tricor Realty, an 11-year-old niche player, is signed to take the combined firm to 26 brokers and 10 million sf, for now.

GARLAND, TX-The target tenant won't make a decision until the end of the month. In the interim, the price is being worked up and tenant proposals floated in anticipation of a second-phase start in the First Garland Business Park.

MESQUITE, TX-Pleasant Grove Baptist Temple has spent more than $1.5 million for the 36,585-sf building on 6.47 acres at 4346 N. Galloway in Mesquite. Three more of the Food Lion stock is sitting with title companies.

PLANO, TX-The 151,988-sf office building brings $3.2 million more than its 2002 assessment. But then, it's also 98% leased, with just 15% of the pacts rolling over in 2003. The buyer gets its first core DFW asset from Heady Investments and partner.

GRAPEVINE, TX-Come Nov. 1, the logistics firm slides into 36,619 sf at Oakmont's International Airport Centre at 601 Westport Parkway. It's the second deal this month for the 458,980-sf, two-building development.

FORT WORTH-NAI Stoneleigh Huff Brous McDowell makes the biggest catch of recent weeks as two well-known veterans come on board as principals. Elsewhere, Transwestern promotes two; Fischer & Co. hires three; and McCarthy adds one.

DALLAS-The name is Falcon Realty Advisors, better known around town as Tim Hughes and Scott Muller, formerly with UCR and Lincoln Property, respectively. Add in Robert Wright and a soon-to-be-hired development president and they're ready to roll.

DALLAS-The industry buzz is that terrorist insurance riders, particularly on trophy buildings, are surefire aftershocks from Sept. 11. It won't be cheap and it won't be easy to bring about the coverage. Federal assistance is a must-have, say Texas execs.
