WHITE PLAINS, NY-A Westchester County broker says that a way to help fill some of the county’s vacant space could be via adaptive reuse.

Howard Greenberg, president of Howard Properties of White Plains, said in remarks at last week’s Building and Owners and Managers Association “State of the Market” meeting here that the key to attracting jobs and businesses to the county is not through new construction, but repurposing of old commercial office parks.

He cited some recent projects by Life Time Fitness and Sloan Kettering along I-287 as examples, according to a story in the Journal News and noted that White Plains has rezoned some properties along Westchester Avenue for possible adaptive reuse ventures and adjoining Harrison is reworking its master plan as well.
