WASHINGTON, DC-Last Friday, the General Services Administration opened bidding on the much anticipated West Heating Plant building in Georgetown.
The bidding has sparked the interest of some area developers, including Akridge, Hines Interests LP and MRP Realty, according to the Washington Business Journal.
The online bid is being conducted by GSA, in collaboration with Jones Lang LaSalle. The plant sits on an historic two-acre site near the Georgetown waterfront and once served as a heating source for government facilities.
The auction is being conducted online with a soft close scheduled for Feb. 19. A soft close means that bidding will end 24 hours after the last bid is cast. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
