PHILADELPHIA-Four new hotel developments are either proposed or under construction in the city.
The newest proposal, according to the Inquirer, is a Hotel Indigo planned for the Bailey Building at 1218 Chestnut St. A representative of InterContinental Hotels Group, PLC, the owner of the Indigo brand, told the newspaper that the planned hotel would have approximately 150 rooms and would be open in the first half of next year. Also on the drawing boards is a proposed 50-story W/Element Hotel at 1441 Chestnut St.
Under construction are the 246-room Home2Suites at 12th and Arch streets and a 172-room Courtyard by Marriott at the Navy Yard. The four hotels would add nearly 1,270 rooms to the city’s hotel room stock. See story in the Inquirer.
