PHILADELPHIA-Five Below says it plans to make a big splash in the State of Texas this year, opening 15 stores, including 10 to 12 in Dallas by late summer.
The discount store company also says it intends to open four to five stores in Austin. To support its growth in the southern United States, the company will be moving into a 600,000-sf distribution center in Olive Branch, MS., according to a report in the Philadelphia Business Journal.
“Austin and Dallas are large markets and are a natural next step of our continuing expansion strategy,” says Five Below CEO Tom Vellios. In addition, Texas’ solid economy and family-oriented population are a perfect fit for Five Below’s brand-name, trend-right merchandise for teens, pre-teens, and shoppers of all ages, making it a promising new market as we continue to grow.”
