PHILADELPHIA-Mohegan Sun has become a partner in one of the six applications vying for the city’s second casino license.
Market East Associates, LP, says that Mohegan Sun has become a partner in its proposal to build a casino on Eighth and Market streets, according to the Inquirer.
The $500-million project, formerly known as Casino Philadelphia, is now Market8, says developer Ken Goldenberg, who assembled Market East Associates.
Goldenberg says the five-level complex would have at least eight restaurants, two floors of gaming, a poker room, a concert venue that doubles as a banquet hall, and a nightclub. A four- or five-star hotel with 168 rooms is also on the drawing board. . “It will be a really exciting urban entertainment complex with a casino in its middle, its heart,” Goldenberg says. “But it will be much more than a casino.” See story in The Inquirer.
