SAN ANTONIO-In its efforts to provide space for companies involved with the Eagle Ford Shale play, National Property Holdings LP of Houston introduced plans to develop the 400-acre Alamo Junction Rail Park. The purpose of the business park, situated in Bexar County, just south of San Antonio, is to provide rail-served commercial real estate to oilfield service and supply companies requiring rail logistics service.

The project’s first phase calls for more than 22,000 linear feet of track, which would accommodate manifest and unit train traffic. According to a press release from NPH, daily rail service, operated by Rail Logix, is scheduled to begin Q3 of 2013 and will ultimately interchange with both the Union Pacific and Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroads.
