SAN FRANCISCO—Pineapple Hospitality Company, Bellevue, WA, has acquired The Hotel California here, it’s first buy in California. The company owns four properties in Seattle and one Porland, OR.
“We chose San Francisco because it complements our core brand locations,” the firm’s president Michelle Foreman Barnet, told Hotel News Resource. “All three cities are strong feeder markets for the others. Plus, it’s an amazing city! We are so pleased that Pineapple has found a terrific home there.”
The sale of the 101-year-old hotel closed late last week, and a major renovation and redesign is being planned for next year. The seven-story, 83 room property was built in 1913. It is located in the heart of San Francisco’s theater district, is three blocks from Union Square and houses the award-winning vegetarian restaurant Millennium.
