ROSWELL, GA-General Motors Co. has acquired a United Parcel Service building here for $18.5 million, according to a report in the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

The property at Mansell and Warsaw Roads totals nearly 230,000 sf and will become the automaker’s new technology center. Citing Fulton County records, the newspaper states the new technology center will employ at least 1,000 workers.

The building is located at a 25-acre campus that was envisioned as a center for information technology, marketing and communications related firms. The report states that GM had considered two north Fulton buildings on Georgia 400 for the technology center before deciding on the Roswell building. See story in the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
