KANSAS CITY- The Opus Group announced yesterday that their subsidiary Opus Design Build, L.L.C. was selected to build 51 Main, a six-story project near the South Plaza neighborhood which will have 176 apartments and 10,000-square-feet of retail space on the ground level. Residents will move into the new building in fall 2014. VanTrust Real Estate and Land Development Strategies will co-develop the project for a VanTrust-related owner.
“This is an exciting project for individuals interested in desirable rental living options in Kansas City and we’re thrilled to have been selected by VanTrust Real Estate as the construction partner,” said Oscar Healy, vice president of construction at Opus Design Build, L.L.C., in a statement. “We will leverage Opus’ design-build delivery method and residential living expertise to ensure timeline and cost efficiencies.”
The South Plaza neighborhood should provide residents with a host of retail, dining and entertainment options. The building will feature onsite parking, a club house and an outdoor courtyard with a pool, grilling area and cabana.
Opus AE Group, L.L.C. is the architect and engineer of record. 360 Architecture will provide architectural schematic design and landscape design.
