Houston to Get New Signature Office Tower

HOUSTON—Ground has broken on 609 Main at Texas, located at the corner of Main and Texas streets in this city’s Downtown. Situated on the Downtown Houston stop of the Main Street rail line, the office tower features 1.05 million square feet in 48 stories.  Delivery is slated three years from now, in February 2017.

The project is a development of the Hines CalPERS Green development fund, a partnership that focuses exclusively on developing sustainable office buildings throughout the US certifiable through the USGBC Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Core & Shell (LEED^®-CS) program. The new development, 609 Main at Texas is pre-registered LEED, and is expected to attain Gold or Platinum certification upon completion.
