BALTIMORE—Questar Properties, based in Pikesville, MD, is expected to present plans this week to city officials for a major high-rise apartment project to be built at the former McCormick & Co. spice factory.

The building to be constructed at the nearly two-acre site at the Inner Harbor could rise 40 to 45 stories and contain between 350 to 370 units, according to the Baltimore Sun. The building, when finished, would be one of the city’s tallest.

Stephen Gorn, chairman and CEO of Questar, says the design will depend in part on feedback during the approval process. The company hopes to break ground on the project by the end of this year. The development cost for the venture has been pegged at more than $130 million.

Questar purchased the property at auction for $11.5 million three years ago. See story at the Baltimore Sun.
