HOUSTON—The Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce recently honored Sandra Porter, Hines vice president of corporate marketing and business development, with its annual Breakthrough Women award for 2016. Porter and nine other Houston-area women were recognized as trailblazers in their industries, demonstrating courage and leadership in reaching their career goals.

Porter is a communications professional with more than 25 years of experience in both the private and public sectors. She joined Hines in 2007 as a senior manager in the firm’s corporate communications department, and in 2010 was promoted to director, corporate marketing and business development, followed by a promotion to her current role in 2013. Porter works with Hines at the corporate level and with its regions worldwide, and serves as a central resource for corporate and project marketing, new business development, strategic planning, brand standards and e-marketing initiatives. She recently discussed with Globest.com her start in real estate, the influence of technology, and some of the initiatives and projects that Hines is promoting.
